Black Friday is here to remind us all that the end of the year is right around the corner. I've heard many brides, whether they're in our store or out in public, say that they are waiting until the beginning of the new year to buy their wedding gown. Personally, I can see how that's a great timeline to put yourself in, but putting the dress buying part of your wedding off until then can have some drawbacks.
At the beginning of the year, everyone thinks that, financially, it's going to be a great time. However, if you're anything like me, you just spent everything on gifts for family and friends. If you go ahead, and pay for the wedding gown now, you have that out of the way, and are better able to plan financially when buying for the holidays.
Second, if you are looking at wedding gowns now, chances are that you are going to find your dream gown now. What good is it to go out and find the dress of your dreams, just to wait for it to get discontinued, price increased, or bought off the rack? No one needs that issue when they're planning their wedding.
Lastly, most brides that are looking for dresses now are needing a dress soon. Ordering a wedding gown takes time, as in 4-8 months. Putting it off, even for a month, can help you rack up some not-so-fun rush charges.
These are just some of the problems that brides who wait will face. I personally don't enjoy stressing out during the holidays, as I'm sure brides don't either. So go ahead. Find that dream gown and buy it. After all, as a bride you're going to need a dress sooner or later.

You are so right! Brides need to start looking for their wedding gowns months in advance of their wedding date.
Experts suggest 9 - 12 months in advance because it takes time to choose and find the perfect wedding dress that fits in with your wedding setting, formality and your figure type.
Also as mentioned, it can take months for your gown order to come in, depending on which designer you order from.
