How To Break in Your Wedding Day Shoes

Brides are always commenting on how much they love the perfect pair of shoes for their wedding, but how painful they appear to be. This is true for most shoes, although there are a few exceptions. However, if you have gotten those "dream shoes" that are uncomfortable, here are a few tips on how to break them in for your special day:

First you need to wear the shoes around; walk, go up stairs, dance, and do anything that you might have to do on the big day. Make note of where the shoes are uncomfortable, then mark it in the shoes. After you've done this, you can go to any drug store, and pick up mole skin. It's sold around items like Dr. Scholls, and anything that might be related. Cut it into strips, and put it over your trouble spots in the shoe. From there, put on thick socks, and walk around the house for a few days. Try to stay away from walking outside so that those pearly white shoes don't get dirty before your wedding day. After "breaking them in" for a few days, they should be find for dancing the night away at your wedding. Tips like this, and others can be found at the wonderful Also check out They have bridal kit called Runaway Bride that is amazing. You can order these directly online. Trust me, you don't want your week in too much pain on the days to follow your wedding. You want to walk away with great memories; not great blisters.

Top 10 Advice on finding the DRESS!

  • Number One Rule: Be open minded! What you think reminds you of your grandmother's dress on the hanger, may in fact be the dress of your dreams.
  • Bring someone that knows your style better than their own. I'm sure the groom doesn't want to see you in something that your bestfriend would wear on her wedding day

  • Don't worry what the groom will think. If he loves you, he will love what you pick.
  • Have fun! Remember that you have been dreaming of this day since you were five. Don't let the decision put a cloud over your head
  • If you hate the little bow on the dress, ask the consultant if you can order it Chances are you can. Keep in mind (contrary to what the magazines always say) there might be a charge for it. It won't lower the cost of the dress.
  • Price vs. Love: If you love the dress, GO FOR IT! Don't settle for less on what your wearing for your big day. You can always take some of the budget from the centerpieces and so on. No one will know and we won't tell.
  • Research designers online and make a scrap book of styles that you like. Do keep in mind, that it may all change when you start trying on.
